A. Jury-Based Awards

The Jury-Based Award categories may include:

Excluded Competitive Areas

Dhanam, Dharmam, Seva and Rajakiyam represent contributions of diverse nature that VLA considers unsuitable for meaningful comparison on a common competitive scale. Accordingly, these areas are not included as competitive Jury-Based Award categories.

VLA reserves the right to introduce, combine, divide, modify, rename, suspend or discontinue categories or subcategories depending upon eligibility, nominations received, quality of entries, Jury recommendations, administrative requirements or other relevant considerations.

B. Vote-Based Awards

Vote-Based Awards are conducted through the official VLA call-based voting system, subject to nomination eligibility, verification and validation by VLA.

1. Every nominee must satisfy the eligibility requirements applicable to the selected Award category.
2. Nominees may be Born Vysya or Vysya by Marriage, subject to verification by VLA.
3. Proof of Vysya community affiliation is mandatory where required by VLA.
4. Nominees may be Indian residents or NRIs, subject to the requirements applicable to the respective category.
5. Self-nominations are permitted unless VLA specifically announces otherwise.
6. A nomination may also be submitted by another person, provided the required information is supplied.
7. There is no prescribed limit on the number of eligible nominations an individual may submit unless VLA announces otherwise.
8. Multiple nominations received for the same person will not provide additional weight, preference, Jury advantage or additional voting entitlement.
9. A person may initially be nominated under more than one category. VLA may shortlist, classify, evaluate or recognise a nominee under one principal category.
10. VLA may transfer or reclassify a nomination into another category or subcategory where appropriate.
11. Submission of a nomination does not create any entitlement or right to acceptance, shortlisting, finalist status or an Award.

Immediate family members of the VLA Core Team are not eligible to submit nominations where such nominations are prohibited under VLA's applicable Nomination Guidelines.

VLA may identify and manage actual, apparent or potential conflicts of interest involving nominees, nominators, Jury members, Core Team members, verification personnel or other persons connected with the Award process.

Every nomination must be completed in the prescribed manner and supported by information and evidence requested by VLA.

• Indian Resident / NRI status
• Government-issued identification proof
• Proof of Vysya community affiliation
• Recent high-resolution photograph
• Selected category and subcategory
• Nominee's brief profile
• Highest achievement relevant to the category
• Documentary proof supporting the achievement
• Professional/business/sports/entertainment credentials
• Nominator information for third-party nominations
• Parent/legal guardian information for minors
• Any additional information requested by VLA

For Jury-Based Awards, nominees/nominators are expected to identify the nominee's highest and most relevant achievement specifically related to the selected Award category.

General popularity, social standing or an extensive biography by itself may not be treated as sufficient evidence of achievement.

VLA and/or the Jury may give greater consideration to achievements supported by credible and independently verifiable documentation.

The nominee and/or nominator is responsible for ensuring that all information submitted is true, complete, current and capable of verification.

VLA may verify information through submitted documents, organisations, institutions, professional bodies, employers, educational institutions, sporting bodies, government/public records, publicly available sources, media records or other appropriate verification channels.

Each category will be assessed according to its nature and relevant evidence.

VLA may conduct an initial screening, eligibility check and verification before placing nominations before the Jury.

VLA is not obligated to select a finalist or Award recipient in every category merely because nominations have been received.

The Jury will exercise independent judgment based on the information and evidence presented, applicable category considerations and any verification undertaken.

Vote-Based Awards will operate through the official VLA call-based voting mechanism.

A participant may make calls multiple times and/or call the voting numbers of multiple contestants. However, only one successfully completed and validated call per eligible mobile number will be counted as a valid vote for the season.

The vote count displayed on the official VLA website may take 30 seconds or more to update, depending on website traffic, system load and technical processing time.

VLA reserves the right to reject, remove or invalidate votes reasonably identified as:

Unauthorised automated calling systems, fabricated numbers, bulk technological manipulation, artificial or automated calls, or other mechanisms designed to improperly influence results may result in invalidation.

The validated vote count maintained by VLA and/or its designated technology/service provider shall be used for determining Vote-Based Award results.

VLA will announce applicable opening and closing dates through its official channels. Entries received after the applicable deadline may not be considered.

VLA reserves the right to extend, shorten, reschedule or otherwise modify nomination, voting, judging, finalist-announcement or Award dates where reasonably required.

Unless expressly authorised otherwise, nominations will be accepted only through the official VLA nomination website/platform.

Submissions through email, post, courier, fax, WhatsApp or other channels will not ordinarily constitute valid nominations.

VLA will make reasonable efforts to maintain its nomination and voting systems; however, uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.

Internet connectivity, telecom-network problems, call routing, premature call disconnection, device issues, server interruptions, third-party service failures, maintenance or circumstances outside VLA's reasonable control may affect nominations or voting.

A nomination involving a person below 18 years must include parental or legal guardian consent.

The parent/legal guardian confirms that they are authorised to provide consent for the child's participation.

Finalists may be contacted using the information supplied in their nomination and may be required to cooperate with VLA for verification, interviews, photography, video filming, Award profiles, media interaction and event-related content.

Unless VLA expressly communicates otherwise, nominees/finalists will be responsible for their own travel, accommodation and incidental expenses connected with attending the Award ceremony or related activities.

Subject to applicable law and required consent, nominees who are shortlisted, selected as finalists or recognised as Award recipients may permit VLA to use their:

for Award-related event presentations, websites, social media, publications, press/media communication, promotional activities, archival material and future VLA communications.

Nominator information will ordinarily be treated as confidential and will not be disclosed merely in response to general enquiries.

Information may be accessed by authorised VLA personnel, Jury/Judging Panels, verification partners, professional advisers and technology/service providers where reasonably necessary for administering the Awards.

VLA will take reasonable measures to protect personal information and confidential documents collected during nomination, verification, judging and voting.

Sensitive identification, financial and tax documents will not ordinarily be published merely because they have been submitted as supporting evidence.

VLA reserves the right to reject, suspend, withdraw or disqualify a nomination or participation at any stage where there is reasonable basis to determine that:

• Eligibility criteria have not been satisfied
• Information is materially inaccurate or misleading
• Supporting documents are false or manipulated
• Required evidence has not been provided
• Voting has been improperly manipulated
• Fraud, impersonation or material misrepresentation has occurred
• Applicable Award Rules have been materially breached
• A prohibited conflict of interest exists

VLA reserves the right, where reasonably required, to:

• Add, remove, divide, combine or rename categories
• Modify category descriptions or eligibility requirements
• Reclassify nominations
• Modify nomination or voting procedures
• Extend, shorten or modify deadlines
• Change the number of shortlisted nominees or finalists
• Change or reconstitute Jury panels
• Introduce additional verification requirements
• Correct administrative, clerical or technical errors
• Suspend, postpone, reschedule or cancel an Award/category/event
• Withhold an Award where suitable eligible nominations are not identified

VLA reserves the right to amend, supplement, clarify, replace or update these Terms & Conditions, Nomination Guidelines, Voting Rules, Category Criteria, eligibility requirements and Award procedures from time to time as reasonably required.

Participants are advised to refer to the latest version of the Terms & Conditions published by VLA.

VLA is conducted as a social-impact and community recognition initiative intended to recognise and celebrate achievement.

Participants are expected to engage with the initiative constructively and in good faith.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VLA shall not be responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from participation in the nomination, voting, judging or Award process or circumstances outside VLA's reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

These Terms & Conditions and participation in the Vysya Limelight Awards shall be governed by the laws of India.

The parties are encouraged to first attempt to resolve any concern or dispute amicably and in good faith.
